The Crest Group is pleased to have exclusive UK representation of a range of mustard biofumigants developed by Professor Jack Brown of the University of Idaho, Plant, Soil and Entomological Sciences Department.

With his mustard cultivars, Professor Brown, who has a worldwide reputation, has produced seeds that protect crops against diseases and nematodes, attack herbicide-resistant weeds such as Black Grass, improve soil fertility, preserve soil structure and improve soil cleanliness.

Intentive Technology

Increasingly we have found that farmers are demanding biological supplements and alternatives to chemical fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides, and this is where we believe these superior bio-designer mustard varieties and blends come to the fore. Through the implementation of intensive ecology they protect crops against diseases and nematodes and attack weeds that have become resistant to conventional pesticides.

Tackle The Tackle blend is formulated to inhibit the growth of invasive and herbicide-resistant weeds. Repeated application of Tackle will 'clean' the soil since the invasive and herbicide-resistant weed growth will be inhibited, with each repetition limiting their ability to set seed.
VegeGuard The VegaGuard blend is formulated to produce required levels of allyl isothiocyanates in the plant and root biomass at concentrations that are suited to controlling soil-borne diseases affecting open field vegetables and annual and perennial soft fruits crops. In addition, VegeGuard will help inhibit invasive weed growth.
SpudGuard The SpudGuard blend is formulated to produce required levels of allyl isothiocyanates in the plant and root biomass at concentrations that suited to controlling potato pests, parasites and nematodes. In addition, SpudGuard will help inhibit invasive weed growth.
RootGuard The RootGuard blend is formulated to produce required levels of allyl isothiocyanates in the plant and root biomass at concentrations that suited to controlling soil-borne diseases affecting sugarbeet and other root crops. In addition, RootGuard will help inhibit invasive weed growth.
