David Youngs, who joined Chemspec in March 2011, has won Agronomist Of The Year at the 2011 Food & Farming Industry Awards, which took place on the 9th of December at the House of Commons. We are thrilled for him.

David Youngs wins agronomist of the yearJudges’ comments:
David Youngs stood out for many reasons this year, particularly his wide ranging knowledge of many crops and what was required of an agronomist. He demonstrated a good relationship with all his customers and was keen to identify and fulfil their farming aspirations. He is well organised and embraces innovative and forward thinking practices to help deal with the world demand for more food in a changing climate. He ultimately wants to help his growers achieve high yielding profitable crops but not at the expense of the environment. He showed us that he has helped his growers with all aspects of farming including cropping decisions, variety choice, management plans and cross compliance. Having grown up on the family farm, he treats all his growers’ farms as if they were his own; he only wants the best for them. David showed himself as a true ambassador for agronomy, technically focussed, proactive, enthusiastic and professional.
